MEQUON, Wis. - The Rockford University women's volleyball team fell in straight sets on Friday evening at Concordia University Wisconsin. The Regents struggled to build momentum for much of the match. The Falcons finished with an edge in kills (45-18), aces (8-3), blocks (8-4) and digs (58-40) en route to a 25-18, 25-10, 25-12 victory.
- Rockford went toe-to-toe with the Falcons for much of the first set.Â
- After quickly falling behind 8-4, the Regents scored 6 straight points to take their first lead of the match. Della Crain led the Rockford attack with a pair of kills over that span.Â
- With the Regents still holding a 15-14 advantage, Concordia Wisconsin ran off 7 straight points to retake the lead at 21-15.Â
- Unfortunately, Rockford was unable to get any closer than 5 the rest of the way and dropped the opening set 25-18.
- CUW used an 8-2 run in the early moments of the second set to grab a comfortable 13-7 lead.Â
- With Rockford now trailing 17-10, the Falcons scored the final 8 points to win the set and jump out to a 2-0 advantage.Â
- The two schools went back and forth trading points to start the third and final set.Â
- However, it was the Falcons who were able to string together 8 straight points and leap out to a 16-6 lead.Â
- Rockford was unable to get any closer than 8 the rest of the match, dropping the third set 25-12 and the match 3-0.
