ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to the visiting Lakeland University Muskies in a Saturday afternoon NACC matchup. Lakeland took charge of the entire match leading in kills (50-26), aces (3-1), blocks (5-2), assists (44-24) and digs (61-60). The Regents found it tough to get it going on their senior day, dropping the first three sets (25-19), (25-16), (25-14) and the Muskies were able to walk away with the win 3-0.
- The first set started out even with a 5-5 score and the Regents getting some help from a kill by Alexis Brashaw.
- This set found its way to a Lakeland 21-12 lead, the Regents did respond with a 4 point run to make it interesting, but the Muskies held on it set 1 25-19.
- The second set also got out to an even start being tied 12-12 and each team trading blows.
- The Regents were able to get help from Melody Moreno, Alexis Brashaw, and Amelia Rodriguez all having kills.
- Lakeland was able to go on a 13-4 run over the Regents and take set two 25-16 and go up 2-0 in the match.
- The third set got out to a 7-5 Muskie lead with the Regents getting 2 kills from Alexis Brashaw and 1 from Amelia Rodriguez.
- Lakeland was able to get out to a 19-10 lead over Rockford and despite a late Regent comeback with 3 straight points, the Muskies were able to take the third set 25-14 and take the match 3-0.
