ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's volleyball team took a tough loss to Dominican University 3-0 in this Thursday night conference matchup. This match was decently close in statistics with the Stars leading in kills (36-28), aces (10-3), assists (32-26), and digs (61-59) and blocks were tied (3-3). Rockford found it tough to get it going in this match and unfortunately took the 3-0 loss.
- Dominican was able to start out the first set up 10-2.
- The Regents were able to make the game closer with kills from Amelia Rodriguez, Melody Moreno and Tamsy Leverton to bring the match to 12-7.
- The Stars went on a 15-9 run to take set 1 from the Regents 25-16.
- In the second set the Regents got out to a 4-1 lead with one kill coming from Melody Moreno.
- This set became a back and forth affair with the Regents leading 12-10 and one point, but the Stars were able to get the better of Rockford 25-20 in the second set and go up 2-0 in the match.
- Dominican got out to a 5-1 lead to start out the third set.
- Rockford got kills from Caitlin Hicks, Melody Moreno, and Alexis Brashaw in this set, but it would not be enough as the Stars took the third set 25-17 and won the overall match 3-0.
