ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford University women's volleyball team picked up an impressive 3-0 win over the visiting Moody Bible Institute Archers in a Wednesday night non-conference matchup. Rockford was able to take the first two sets handily 25-8 and 25-4, but the third set was much more of a battle at 25-20. The Regents also dominated the match in every category, leading in kills 45-16, aces 8-1, blocks 4-1, assists 40-14 and digs 37-29 in what was an all-around great performance from Rockford. This win improves the Regents to 6-3 on the season.
- The Regents rolled out to a quick 7-1 lead to open the first set, with a kill each by Melody Moreno, Madisen Perry and Ashley Miller during that stretch.
- Rockford was then able to go on an 8-1 run to take a 15-2 lead. The Regents were led by Madisen Perry who picked up 3 kills during the run.
- The Regents never looked back and rode a 10-4 run capped off by 4-straight points to end the set and take the first set 25-8.
- Rockford again got off to a good start in the second set, getting out to a 7-3 lead after a kill by Melody Moreno.
- The Regents sacrificed one more point to the Archers and then scored the next 18 points in a row thanks to four aces by Keara Ross, three kills by Melody Moreno, two by Kali Szostek and Amelia Rodriguez and one a piece by Jayce Shaw and Alexx Burton.
- Rockford was able to take the second set 25-4.
- The Regents again got out to a lead to start the third set 8-3 after a kill by Kennedy Bryant.
- The Archers were able to creep back into the set eventually tying the Regents at 12-12.
- The third set remained tight after the Archers tied it up with each team trading points back-and-forth, until the Regents were able to grab a 22-18 lead after three straight points on kills by Madisen Perry, Jalyn Rhodes and Melody Moreno.
- Rockford took the next three-out-of-five points and grabbed the third set 25-20 to win the match in straight sets.
- Melody Moreno led the team with 10 kills on an impressive .556 hitting percentage, also racking up 4 digs and 1 assist on the night.
- Madisen Perry picked up 8 kills on just 9 attempts for an unbelievable .889 hitting percentage. She also recorded 3 digs and 1 block.
- Kyle Meister delivered a new season-high in assists and digs with 11 and 4.
- Keara Ross provided a new career-high in aces with 4, also picking up 2 assists and 3 digs.
- Amelia Rodriguez had 7 kills on 13 attempts for a .385 hitting percentage also recording 2 blocks.
