Jessica (Zammuto) Garcia - Softball (2005-06)
Jessica (Zammuto) Garcia was enshrined into the Charles M. DeWild Hall of Fame in 2025 after an extraordinary two-year career (2005-06) as a member of the Rockford University softball team. Garcia transferred to Rockford University following an award-winning two years at Rock Valley College, where she was selected First Team All-Region twice and voted the 2003 Region Player of the Year. After Garcia transferred to Rockford for the 2005 season, the Regents posted their two best years in program history. Rockford went 53-25 during her two seasons as a Regent, including winning a school record 28 games in 2006. The Regents finished third in the Northern Illinois Iowa Conference (NIIC) in 2005 and second in 2006, tying for the best finish in the conference in program history.

Garcia was absolutely dominant over her two seasons as a Regent. In 2005, Garcia was selected First Team All-NIIC and the NIIC Newcomer of the Year. She went 16-7 with a 1.46 earned run average (ERA) and had 202 strikeouts. Garcia ranked in the top 100 among all NCAA Division III softball players in earned run average, victories and strikeouts per seven innings (9.5), where she finished eleventh in the country. Garcia capped off her time as a Regent with an even more remarkable senior year. She was once again tabbed First Team All-NIIC and was also voted Second Team All-Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Garcia finished the 2006 season with an incredible 22-5 record, a 1.32 ERA and struck out 236 batters. She ended the year ranked in the top 54 in NCAA Division III in all three pitching categories for the second straight season, with her highest ranking being eleventh in strikeouts per seven innings (10.1).

Garcia compiled incredible numbers over her time as a Regent. She posted a 38-12 record with 3 saves, 1.39 ERA, 438 strikeouts and a .172 batting average against. She fired a total of seven no-hitters, four in 2005 and three more in 2006. Garcia remains the last Regent to throw a no-hitter, which came back on April 22, 2006 against Concordia Chicago. She also struck out at least ten batters in a game an astounding 17 times in her two seasons. Garcia still holds six school records, including: wins in a season (22), earned run average in a season (1.32) and a career (1.39) and strikeouts in a game (16), a season (236) and a career (438).
