Louis Mateus came to Rockford College from Fall River, Mass. Rockford won a NIIC Championship in each of his four years and in 1984, played in the NCAA kicks. Louis captained the Regents from 1982-84 and was selected All-NIIC in each of those three seasons. During his senior year, in addition to being all-conference and most valuable player, Louis was honored by the athletes of Rockford College as Male Athlete of the Year and was awarded the President's Cup for Sportsmanship. 

After graduation Louis played professionally for the Milwaukee Wave in the Professional Indoor Soccer Association. He later became the head coach at National Lewis College of Education and Illinois Benedictine College.
