Matt Lindgren - Men's Cross Country and Track & Field (2006-10)
Matt Lindgren entered the Charles M. DeWild Hall of Fame in 2025 following a highly-decorated four-year career as a member of the Rockford University cross country (2006-09) and track & field teams (2007-10). The Rockford University men's cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field programs had their best four-year spans ever in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with Lindgren on the teams. Rockford won its only NACC Cross Country Championship in 2008 and never finished lower than fourth in the other three years. Both the indoor and outdoor men's track and field teams also recorded their highest finishes ever at the NACC Championships while Lindgren was in uniform.

Lindgren began his collegiate career in 2006 as a standout four-time All-NACC performer on the Rockford University cross country team. He finished as high as third at the 2009 NACC Cross Country Championship, but never placed lower than eighth in any of his four years. He is the only Rockford University men's cross country runner to ever place eighth or higher at the NACC Championship in all four years. He also still holds the second fastest 8k time in program history.

Lindgren elevated his dominance to an unprecedented level within the program during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. He was All-NACC in nine individual events and one team event during his four years. Lindgren won the 800m race in three of his four years and took second the other year at the NACC Indoor Championship. He was also on the distance medley relay team that won the NACC Indoor Championship in 2007. At the NACC Outdoor Championship, Lindgren won the 800m his sophomore year and both the 1500m and 800m races as a senior. He also took second in the 800m as a freshman and a junior. Lindgren's six individual NACC Championships are the most in program history. Additionally, he holds six school records, four indoor and two outdoor. He is the Rockford University indoor record holder for the 600m, 800m, 1,000m and the DMR and the outdoor record holder for the 800m and the 1500m. Lindgren then capped off his collegiate career by being voted the 2010 Rockford University Male Athlete of the Year.
